This year, our short film programmers really had their hands full. You already know they have seen a total of 3,244 submitted movies. To those who are interested in ‘BaDaBoo: the boat trip’ – one of the films selected for the competition (for children aged 5+) – we recommend watching a short trailer. The movie will be screened in the collection entitled ‘I count the rabbits and other animated films’.
But the list of shorts does not end with the competition entries!
Each year, we prepare for our viewers a section called ‘Neighbourhood’ – a collection of the best animated films created over the last two years in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Poland, selected by the partner film festivals for children and youth in Poznań, Zlín, and Chemnitz.
This year, we would also like to invite you to join us at an anniversary screening to honour the festival’s 55th birthday. We will be celebrating in the excellent company of films that were created in 1963.
And yet another opportunity to move back in time will be a collection entitled ‘Leszek Gałysz – Retrospective. The Clock That Run Amok and other Animated Films’, – a set of animated films created by Leszek Gałysz, awarded at the Ale Kino! Festival over the last 20 years.
So when you plan your personal list of screenings, be sure to include some short films in it!
