The Children’s Art Centre in Poznań We bring together people who share one passion: a passion for art made for children and by children. Our activities are aimed at those who are still learning to walk and talk, those who have made it to crèche or nursery, then to elementary, middle, or secondary school, and finally to university, but also at those who have never lost the thirst and courage for discovering the world and themselves within the world. They all come to us and meet across generational boundaries. We organise a number of cyclical events, many of which have a long- standing tradition. We deal with theatre, film, music, and visual arts, sometimes treating them as separate domains, but usually making them complement each other and form a whole, just like we as individuals get together to form a team. We are a local government cultural institution which not only believes in its mission, but also realises it every day.
Every year, the Westman Islands in the south of Iceland become the home of children’s football teams’ championship. Two ten-year-old boys, Jon and Ivar, compete against each other as their teams’ top players. Aggressive and malicious Ivar hides his dramatic family situation. After discovering Ivar’s secret, Jon decides to help his rival. Meanwhile, the tournament is threatened by an explosion of the nearby volcano. A football film about sports rivalry, friendship, and solidarity among children faced with domestic violence.
